Semantics ... cognitive semantics?

Hello!I'm writing my diploma work: "Stereotype of psychologist". I'm looking for material about 'cognitive semantics' (also: prototype, stereotype - in linguistics). I find quite a lot of material but it is about some special aspects of cognitive semantics.I'm looking for some brief article - like in lexicon or encyclopedia (I've already checked Encarta and Brittanica and Columbia Encyclopedia).I use google but it finds a lot of pages (mostly unusefull) and it's hard to make query more distinctive (any ideas?).I'm looking for any www pages, eBooks, articles, even books (but it's hard to get one in the library :-/Thanks in advance!From Poland- Beata

If you are indeed looking for a brief article, here's one. If you want to pursue this, look for works by R. W. Langacker and G. P. Lakoff. All of the terms marked with '<>' have entries of their own. I can't imagine what level diploma this could be sufficient for, but I hope it helps.

Your safest source would be the Social Science
Citation Index or some similar publication of the
Institute for Scientific Information, Philadelphia. Most large libraries have arrnagements for on-line access.

Thanks for your help. My work is mainly about prototype and stereotype theory. I make some research about stereotype of psychologist in Poland - base on The Semantic Differential (Osgood, B. The Semantic Differential (Osgood,
Suci, & Tannenbaum, 1957) Suci, & Tannenbaum, 1957) and diagnostic-ratio approach. I also need to write a introduction about cognitive semantics 'in general'.
