Semantic operation in arithmetical equation

Hello,I'd like to confirm the semantic operation in arithmetical equation. (1 ) The motif: the augend plus the addend equals the sum.(2 ) In addend, the addend is added to (= unto / directed towards) the augend ;(3 ) In augend, the augend is added to (= in connection with) the addend;Does it mean the addend is the maker to have the addition of the augend to be finished ? So, the two "to" are different from each other, and could you tell me the interpretation of them correct or not?

Hi, I just want to comment that I had never heard the terms 'augend' and 'addend' in my life, until the recent post that mentioned them. Clive

I think you would be interesting to comment that all kind of object of the ditranstive verbs have their relationship based on arithmetical semantical operation.
