hiI have to do a research about  semantic ambiguity but I couldn't find the suitable resource that my reseach can be based on can you advice me with some resources about this subject "Semantic ambiguity " ?

ya I did some googling ,, and I came out with these books

Cruse, D. A. (1986). Lexical semantics. Cambridge University Press.

Gorfein, D. S. (1989). Resolving semantic ambiguity. Springer-Verlag.

Zernik, Uri (1991). Lexical acquisition: Exploiting on-line resources to build a lexicon. Lawrence Erlbaum Associates, Pubishers.

Hirst, G. (1987). Semantic interpretation and the resolution of ambiguity. Cambridge University Press

but I havn't got any of them yet , are they useful ?

Have you tried reading some excerpts on http://books.google.com/?

Look at the table of contents, read some chapters and see for yourself if they're useful.

Besides, since this is for research, you might want to have a look at Google Scholar. If you're doing academic research, the number of times an article or a book has been cited (which G. Scholar provides) gives you some information on how much the article, or better the author, is reputable.
Another indicator of usefulness is the so-called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_factor, but this only applies to academic journals, to my knowledge.

Here's, for instance, the link to the first book you mention.
Look at the table of contents, read some chapters and see for yourself if they're useful.

Besides, since this is for research, you might want to have a look at Google Scholar. If you're doing academic research, the number of times an article or a book has been cited (which G. Scholar provides) gives you some information on how much the article, or better the author, is reputable.
Another indicator of usefulness is the so-called impact factor, but this only applies to academic journals, to my knowledge...
