Sell for? be sold for?

Hi, teachers

Here are two sentences

1."This book is sold for $10."

2."I hope to take some pictures that might sell for a high price."

When should I use the passive voice? When the active voice?

thanks : )

Use passive voice as usual for instances when the object being sold is more important to the communication than the agent doing the selling.
