My name is Isabela Silva de Campos, I am 17 years old and I am Brazilian. I was born in Caçapava, in interior of São Paulo. I always liked to think of things that could make others life less tiring, because since my childhood I watched my grandfather to fix objects and create a lot of things that made our life easier. Although I prefer subjects that involve the area of ??mathatichs I do not have difficulties with the other subjects, therefore I do not see the study like something obligatory, but rather pleasurable. I am dedicated, I like to work in a group and I do everything I can to help others.
My parents never got married and nowadays they are not a couple anymore. I currently live with my mother and grandmother. Until I was 14 years old I had only studied in private schools, but when I went to high school, my mother was demissed and my father was not well financially, so I had to go to a public school. I decided to apply for a school where the high school is integrated with the certificate course, in my case it was a mechanic course, I took the test to join it, and I went it in 10th place, and now every two months I receive diplomas of the best student. At the same time I started to take an English course, concluding it in 2018 with the Mechigan English Test, taking the grade B2 in listening and in the reading section.
To conclude my school education I am creating a project of a prosthesis for a dancer due to the fact that there is nothing like this that helps them to stand on their toes in the world. This project includes two removable feet, one for the dance and other for everyday situations, so in this way, the dancer does not need two prothesis, but just one, which helps her save time and money
Asian culture really helped me since my chidhood, because I was very shameful, so as a way of creating subjects with other people I started to watch asian cartoons and dramas, which definitely transformed my life because I was really interested in a totally different reality of which I lived, it was a new language, new habits, everything was new. I even started for some months learn Korean by myself, and it was a great experience for me, mainly because it is something really contrastive from portuguese and it changed the way I think about others idioms.
I want to study biomedical engineering because of my school project. I am extremely interested in how the human body can work in conjunction with a equipament. I believe that more technologies that help human beings return to their normal activities regardless of their limitation are progressing to a time where, for example, a wheelchair user can walk and run again, thanks to certain equipment. Constantly new mechanical devices have to be made and that is exactly what makes me interested in it, how something good can get better and more technological to make our life easier.
Studying in Korea would open my horizons in immeasurable ways, because it is a country with a rich culture, an excellent quality of life, a country that believes and has been transformed by education and in a constant advance in all the fields that tend to do our life becomes practical and less exhausting, in additional being a country where security is very present, which brings me a lot of confidence.
The scholarship would help me to see what the needs of medical devices are, both in software and in development of materials and mechanism. In addition, with the it, I would have the opportunity to learn a language and a culture of a country that constantly gains space in the world market.
