Self-love

Hi

Does "self-love" always has got negative connotations?

E.G. I wanted him to learn some degree of truth and self-love before he would be free.

So it means that someone wanted him to find out first that he loved/focused only on himself? Or maybe he should start loving himself?

Are you trying to say that in this case it means he should start loving himself.

Yes sorry that was a typo. Self loving could be thought as of ************ but some listeners. So if you mean that he should start to love himself I would say that.
