Hi, What is self in self-created? I understand it refer to mistakes, does it refer to something more like who or what do it?

Hi, It's a somewhat odd phrase. I take it to mean 'mistakes created by the US itself'. We do not usually ' create a mistake'.

It's a somewhat odd phrase. I take it to mean 'mistakes created by the US itself'.
We do not usually 'create a mistake'. More common is to 'make a mistake'.
