Self confidence of ignorance!

Hi,

I heard a great word the other day but I'm not sure how to spell it!. It means someone who has the self confidence of the ignorant (and we all know someone like that!). It's something like boward or bayard or boyard but I can't find it anywhere! Any assistance much appreciated.
