selected varieties

Selected varieties means that the store has chosen a selection from among all the available varieties to carry as merchandise in their store. It sometimes bears the rather pompous assumption that the store has chosen to purvey the most excellent varieties, but more often means that its shelf space and cash flow are limited.

Is it true? Please see the following.

The store has many kinds of 12 pack 7-Up/Crystal Geyser Mineral Water/Aquafina Splah & Sparkling Water/Lipton Tea Drinks on the shelves, as a cumstomer you can pick one kind or as many kinds as you like.

I thought 12 pack 7-Up or Crystal Geyser Mineral Water ...etc only had one kind. Can someone confirm?

12-pack 7-up probably comes at least in regular and sugar free, and possibly cherry-flavored or some others as well. (In fact, I think some varieties of 7-up now have miniscule amounts of various fruit juices in them.) What this term does is it advises the potential-consumers that there is NOT just only one "flavor" to have to take; as it's not just the one exposed on the ad, but there are a number of others to choose from. For instance, would you only want the 4-Cheese kind of Pasta Sauce? . . . Or would you also want the Roasted Garlic; the Original; the Spicy Tomato; the Italian Sausage? . . . etc.? . . . B
