Seems like an Incomplete Sentence

The passage below is from ‘The Reader,’ a book written by a German author ‘Bernhard Schlink.’

In the underlined part of this text, there is no object of the transitive verb ‘discover,’ ‘liked.’ ? Can you tell me what happened to the object?

and this sentence also shows a bit confusing arrangements.

So ?I gave it a fix in my own way. Can you check it out for me?

Each journey (I went) a little further than the last (journey), (and in) the next vacation in the new place I discovered (something that I discovered) during my last vacation and liked (that)...

Anyway I don’t need or seek much variety. Each journey a little further than the last, the next vacation in the new place I discovered during my last vacation and liked... For a while I thought I should be more daring, and made myself go to Ceylon, Egypt, and Brazil, before I went back to making familiar regions more familiar. I see more in them.

I agree that it is not a complete sentence; it is more a 'flow-of-thought' type of writing. The original with my insertions: Anyway I don’t need or seek much variety. Each journey [being] a little further than the last, the next vacation in the new place [that] I discovered during my last vacation and liked.

Thanks a lot for answering my post, Mister Micawber.
(Also excuse me for my very late reply. I'm really sorry about that. I think I was out of my senses.)
