Is it OK to use SEEM like this?

1 For the last few days he seemed to have been talking to nobody. (up to now)

I don't like the combination "For the last few days he seemed". I think "for the last few days" should go with "the present perfect".

For the last for days he has been calling me every day. CORRECT

For the last for days he called me every day. WRONG (provided we are talking about alive people and the situation stretches up to now)
