Seem vs Look

I would like to know that is there any difference between seem and look. Have a look at the following sentences:
1. He looks sad.
OR
2. He seems sad.
3. She looks like a teacher.
OR
4. She seems to be a teacher.

While there's not a great deal of difference in general usage, 'seems' includes what you detect with your other senses so is not the same as 'looks'. Someone 'seems' sad because of all the things that you can tell about them, even if they 'look' perfectly happy on the surface. You could say someone seems sad after having had a phone conversation, whereas you can't say they look sad!
