seem

Dear teacher ,

Let’s consider the sentence I wrote below. Is there any grammartical disorder or difference in meaning in case I rephrase “seemingly” with “seems” ?.Then could you please disclose a bit about the criteria of using both expressions.

I spend on english newspapers as the only resource of pursuing better english.I think it is helpful but “seemingly” rather slow and sluggish.

"seems" would be better. I rephrased the first sentence for you to make it a little more idiomatic. I spend time reading English newspapers as a way of improving my English.
