Seeking IDIOM w/ numbers meaning...

... to give a general idea/summary of a subject or situation. I remember hearing one that collocated with the verb GIVE: "give me the [insert number/s]".

" This probably only works in AmE, and it is slang. " It often refers to gossip or second-hand knowledge, but can be applied to inside information or other personally-held knowledge. There may be another idiom, but that's the only one I could think of.

The only idiom that I could think is close to that construction is, "Give me the 411." Or, alternatively, "What's the 411?"

This probably only works in AmE, and it is slang. The number "411" was formerly the number dialed on the telephone for "information." It often refers to gossip or second-hand knowledge, but can be applied to inside information or other personally-held knowledge.
