Seeking comments on the past sell-by date & use-by date

I would like to seek someone’s comments on what is the grammar rule of the word “past” in the sentences.

Is the word "past" used as a noun?


1. There's plenty of time to have a baby. I'm not past my sell-by date yet.

2. The company lost a judicial review over selling foods past their use-by date.
