Seeking comments on "less" or "over" years

I would like to seek someone’s comments on the grammar and sentence structure for the following sentences.

A.) By the comparative merit of the repair and replacement cost of the unit, the replacement cost of the unit shall bring benefit to our company in terms of business aspects. However, the unit was replaced on 18 April 2020 and failed to meet the requirement of the replacement due to the aged unit is less than 5 years lifespan.

B.) By the comparative merit of the repair and replacement cost of the unit, the replacement cost of the unit shall bring benefit to our company in terms of business aspects. However, the unit was replaced on 18 April 2020 and failed to meet the replacement requirement of the aged unit to be over 5 years lifespan.
