Seeking comments on a short email for noise problem

Dear Sir

Referring to a noise complaint made by a customer dated 11 Nov 2021 at ABC building, the Contractor conducted a noise measurement in the plant room on the same date between 11:00 and 13:00. As outlined in the attached table, the noise level for the operation of new air conditioner no.2 was a maximum of 75.7dBA at point M5 and it exceeded the 65dBA of Area Sensitivity Rating “B” during the daytime according to the Technical Memorandum of Environmental Protection Department (EPD).

According to our record, no noise complaint of the old chillers was made over the past 10 years at the building. Crucially, the new air conditioner no.2 was installed on 22 Oct 2021 and was swiftly put into operation on 25 Oct 2021. Hence, it was absolutely the noise problem that came from the new chiller.

With the aim of solving the problem and avoiding further complaints, please help to arrange for your relevant parties to implement noise mitigation measures at once for the new air conditioner to comply with the statutory requirements of the Government.

Regards

Thomas
