Seeking comments on a rewritten sentence

I would like to seek someone’s comment on the following sentences and whether they are the same meaning when the sentence was rewritten from sentences 1 to 2. Thanks

The use of the phrase "as precedence" makes no sense in your examples. Why is it there? Do you mean that the use of temporary batteries is not guaranteed? If so then "as prudent" or "as required" or "as appropriate" would make more sense.
