Seek & Seek for

Which of the following sentence is correct? Or both are correct?

1. He is seeking employment.
2. He is seeking for employment.

I'm not sure whether "seek for" exists, could anyone please kindly answer this question?
It would be better if it is supported by a dictionary Emotion: smile
Thanks a lot!
