First, "seek" is usually used for abstract things. Like "seek fame and fortune". My sense is that "seek" is more focused and perhaps with a stronger will to find, with a fairly high level of conviction that what you seek exists. My visual image of "seeking" is a collection of linear paths trying to find what you seek.

"Search" seems more general. You can search for your key, or search fo
