see who is laughing

Is this an idiom? See who is laughing?

Her boyfriend says she's not the Karate type and she says.

We will see who laughs/is laughing when I'm a black belt in Karate and can kick your butt.

Is this a common thing to say and not stilted?Which tense should be used?

Thanks
