Hi teachers. This might be a small detail, but could you please answer me which of 'see' and 'spot' you find the better choice here.
Context is that I'm driving down a street looking for my wife, who is waiting for me to pick her up. I don't know where exactly she is on the street. I keep driving. Suddenly I see/spot her standing on the sidewalk and I pull the car over.
"spot" more strongly suggests the idea that you are looking for her. However, if this is clear anyway from the general context then there is not a great deal of difference.
