See my bag for a while

This was the event that I encountered today.

My friend wanted to go to toilet for a while.

He asked me to take care of his bag for a while.

So he said, "could you see my bag for a while?"

Is the "see" = take care of in this context?

Thanks.

No, you can ask someone to see TO your bag, but that seems like you need to do something with it. I think you want: Can you watch my bag? )

I think you want: Can you watch my bag? (Keep an eye on it, make sure no one takes it, etc.)
