See him crossing vs see him cross

I give a couple of sentences below: 1. I saw him cross the road.[ It is possible ]

1. I saw him cross the road.[ It is possible ]

2. I saw him crossing the road.[ possible ]

3. I see/can see him crossing the road. [ also possible ]

4. I see/can see him cross the road.

Is the sentence(4) possible at all? if possible, in which cases/situations can I use this type of sentences?

We would use the non-aspectual "cross" if we saw the entire act of him having crossed the road, but the aspectual "crossing" if we only saw part of the act: we may not have seen him reach the other side of the road.
