Hi
Could you tell me how you find the use of secret as a verb in this sentence?
He had secreted away some official documents in his village home.
Thanks,
Tom
Mr. He had secreted away some official documents in his village home. It would be fine without 'away'.

The verb in this sentence is the past tense of 'secrete' (hide).
'Secret' is not used as a verb.
