"second tire"?

My apologies! But my life is full of those the so-called friends. They always smile and they are talkative. However, when I need them, they reject me making some excuses.

Is it OK to label/call them second tire, please?

This is a bit better: However, when I need them, they make excuses and reject me. "second tire" makes no sense here. Could you possibly mean "second tier "?

  • That makes more sense but doesn't really fit very well.
  • Perhaps "second-rate" is more what you are trying to say.

If they are only friendly when things are going well for you, and not in times of trouble, they are "fair-weather friends."
