Second hand and vicarious

Hi teachers~

I would like to know if the last sentence is ok.

I went to Traders with my friend last Saturday. She is an underwear designer. I usually go to the mall with her when she does market research.

I get vicarious satisfaction from her.

Is 'vicarious' common?

How about second hand?

Thanks in advance.

  • In the US, the adjective is spelled solid, "secondhand", and it would not work where "vicarious" is, if that's what you mean.
