Please someone tell me what is the difference between these two sentences.
If we sent the email, we would get the project.
If we were to send the email, we would get the project.
Please note that I've learned how to construct the first sentence from a book. However, the second one is a sentence that I've read recently. Even though, I can remember the structure of sentence, I can't remember words exactly, so I wrote two different sentences by my self. Therefore, there might be some grammatical errors. In addition, I think both have similar meaning. But I'm not 100% sure about it, that is why I ask this question.
