Second conditional

Give me the book or I'm breaking her neck.
If you don't give me the book I will break her neck.

You kill him I kill you.
If you kill him I'll kill you.

Are sentences like the first ones substitutes for second conditional? Are they informal and common in everyday speech?

Are those informal substitutes only used by people who aren't educated or both? Thanks. Are they not used in formal writing at all?

Hi,

Are those informal substitutes only used by people who aren't educated or both? Both. Actually, I think possibly educated people may do it more. There's a kind of 'educated artfulness' to this.

Are they not used in formal writing at all? Not usually. They are more characteristic of spoken English.
