season?

Choose the word which best completes the sentence:
It's too early in the ...... to expect many visitors to come.
A. term B. season C. time D calender
i waver between "term" and "season". But i find "in the term" is such an adverb. So i choose "season" but not sure. Because i find the meaning of the sentence "It's too early in the season to expect many people to come'' quite confusing.
Please help. i'm so thankful
