Sea breeze carries a lot of salt vapors and (which is why) it’s very corrosive, especially to the houses facing the sea.

Sea breeze carries a lot of corrosive salt vapor, and as a result, seaside houses are most affected by its destructive action.

I've never heard the term "salt vapor," Tom. I suspect it's un-scientific. Most substances may be vaporized at very high temperature, but not in the earth's atmosphere. I believe salt ionizes in a water solution, so water vapor may contain corrosive ionized salt.

Wood does not corrode, so if the houses are made of wood, we would not say that the houses corrode.
