SCSI - pronunciation

why is SCSI pronounced as "scuzzy"? Is there any justification (etymology?, association?)?

[nq:1]why is SCSI pronounced as "scuzzy"? [/nq] Apple agitated for the pronunciation "****" but it didn't take. If it's going to be pronounced at all (rather than spelled out), there aren't that many options.
