"Scrunched Up" as an Adjective

“Oh, you’re such an idiot for doing that,” he says with a scrunched up, befuddled look on his face.

Should "scrunched up" be hyphenated, since, like befuddled, it is describing the look on his face?

No, it's not a verb in the sentence. It is the past participle of a phrasal verb which is being used as an adjective.
