I apologise for having barged in like this (I assume you have addressed that question to me).

I just stumbled across "scrub clean" a few times and presumed that it meant "to scrub a surface to make it look clean, to remove the dirt by scrubbing"

For example, in COCA I found this example: It made no difference to me if the subway was scrubbed clean a few days later
