Scripted character

Hi,

Note: This was the first acting credit (where she plays a scripted character) for Shelley Long. Interestingly, she plays a bookish intellectual who is mismatched with a vain narcissist (named Sam) who can't appreciate her for who she is.

What does a scripted character mean?

Thank you very much.

  • I at first thought it meant that this was her first "speaking role", but she did a narration before that "Love Boat" episode, and though narration isn't exactly a role, she did speak.
  • The other was an appearance in a TV movie as "Performer", so her character didn't have a name that could appear in a script.
