Screen thingy?

Which part of the TV screen is the "screen thingy"? I googled to try to find any useful picture but to no avail, can anybody please explain this specific area of a screen in words? TIA!

thingy is just a general word to use when you don't know the correct name for a thing.

'Thingy' is just a slangform ot the word 'thing'.
eh What's that thingy in your pocket?

So, 'a screen thingy' could mean the screen itself, or some thing that is shown on the screen.

THINGY is a slang word that doesn't mean any thing, or part of any thing, specifically.
It's a word we use when we don't know the real name of something, or can't be bothered naming it.
"What's this little blue thingy?" - this little thing, it's blue, but I don't know what it is, or when I say "blue thingy" you will know what I mean.
THINGY is similar to THING, WHATSIT and GIZMO. It's a vague, general word for something when you're not sure what it is, or you've forgotten its name, or you're too lazy to identify it by its name.
THINGY would never be used in formal writing.
So SCREEN THINGY doesn't mean any specific part of the screen. It might just mean SCREEN, or some kind of THINGY that is, contains, or looks like, a screen.
