00I don't understand: if the lorry screeched to a halt what means it stopped suddenly then what the second sentence mean? What was the action?02br

0 The lorry in front of him stopped very suddenly, but he noticed this too late, didn't brake in time and his car ended up underneath the back of the lorry. (If it had been a car not a lorry in front of him - he would have crashed into the back of it. ) 0-

0 The lorry in front of him stopped very suddenly, but he noticed this too late, didn't brake in time and his car ended up underneath the back of the lorry. (If it had been a car not a lorry in front of him - he would have crashed into the back of it. However, because it was a higher vehicle, his car was low enough to come underneath it.) 0-
