Scrap through

The nerves are not too bad. We gave ourselves a chance with a spirited bowling performances. The changes in the team worked as Mills and Butler won the game for us. We managed to scrap through considering the fact that Pakistan bowling is very good.

Please explain to me the emboldened parts.

Though I guess it means "managed to get past difficult situation".

Not sure. In my grandfather's day, "scrap" was slang for "fight."
The boys got into a scrap.

"scrap through" makes sense (in the sense of "scrap" = "fight"), but it's also possible it's a mistake for "scrape through", a common idiom meaning "just about manage to succeed".
