Scrap papers

Hi

Does the use of scrap papers work here naturally? Can my sentence be abridged?

(Scrap papers = discarded or used papers whose one side is still blank. They are cut at a decent (square size) to jot down little information like someone' telephone number or email address)

I always keep scrap papers ready on my table. They come in handy when I need to jot down some quick, little piece of information.

Thanks,

Tom
