scottish accent

To my ears, scottish accent sounds similar to German language
when someone speaks in very strong scottish accent or northern irish accent
he or she sounds as if he speaks in German...
intonations of those two languages -the scottish dialects and German-sound
so similiar to my ears....
How does it sounds like to native ears? what do you think of this matter?
