Remember the 6 Ps – Proper Planning Prevents Pretty Poor Performance. Look closely at the purpose and scope of your project. Don’t forget that other saying – “Scope-less is hopeless.” During the planning phase, you should also take an honest look at what your project will require. How much will it cost? What kinds of supplies will it need? How long will it take? You need to answer these questions before you complete the planning stage.

The scope your project is exactly what you want to accomplish with the project. If you don't know what the project is going to do, you have no chance of succeeding. That's why your project will be hopeless (not achieved) if you don't have a scope.
