Scooch

Hi.
I am looking for the spelling of a word which means to move and pronounces as scooch.

I cannot just simply find it in dictionaries. I guess I am typing the wrong spelling.

Ex. If you don't want your bacon to stick to your pan, you should scooch them around.
Thank you
Hamid

I've used this word as a noun or verb for as long as I can remember, but it is not in many dictionaries. I think it might be considered regionalism or slang.
Your example does not comply with my experience - usually it's a person that is moving.
Scooch over a bit and make room for one more person.

"Scoot over" is more common in my area.

In mine too.
But scoot over is moving at least the width of one seat, and perhaps more, whereas scooch over is to move a little bit.

Thank you all. That was great.
