Schotzie appears to be dog's name in America. Is that what you meant?

That spelling is unexpected. I've seen it the way you say "sweetheart" in German, but Americans tend to add the final e: Shatzie.

But with that spelling, I wonder if it's tchochke (which has about half a dozen ways to spell it) which is Yiddish for a trinket or knick-knack.
