Schools should prepare pupils for their future lives and for the world of employment
Schools should prepare pupils for their future lives and for the world of employment. Learning about history is not necessary and more emphasis should be placed on other school subjects. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
It is clear that modern educational system does not help pupils to adapt for future life. However, knowing of history is necessary for well-educated and well-rounded person. I totally disagree that history need to replace other school subjects.
First of all, I try to explain the role of the school education. The main aim of school is to provide pupils for general knowledge in order that they could learn something new for the job and have necessary basic knowledge for it, but does not make special practices skills. I tend to think that school should not require to accumulating knowledge, but show the various way to get knowledge, explain how important relationship among people and help each other. Many teachers may be forgetting about it. Although, I agree that, in certain age, pupils are needed to prepare for the future.
History plays the significant value for personality. Every person should know history, important events in the country, the past of it and relationship between others. One should note here that only, in this case, person will respect him or her country in any staying place. Furthermore, person will be interested in the events which deal with in the country.
As I mentioned, there are many jobs and after 9 classes and/or earlier pupils can study to special secondary vocational establishment. For example, if someone wants to be interpreter he or she can study in the school or college with in-depth study foreign languages, but nowadays, many people do not know what they want and in school age they can not choose their future professions that means that general school need to prepare all subject even history because perhaps person will be historian or archaeologist.
In conclusion, I would like to underline that all subject are necessary to developing person, but to affective prepare person it needs to replace the methodology of education because soviet methodic does not work.
