School should not force children to learn a foreign language. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

People have different views on whether learning a foreign language should be made to be compulsory in the school curriculum. Personally, I believe that this proposal off compelling students to study languages is completely appropriate and necessary.The need to study foreign languages stems from the ongoing globalization. First of all, being fluent in a foreign language is a plus when applying for a position at work. This is because almost all corporations in this day and age tend to expand their business scale worldwide. As a consequence, being able to speak at least one foreign language might facilitate one to climb the career ladder. For example, when two applicants with the same academic abilities are being contemplated for a job position, the one speaking more than one language is more likely to be chosen. That is why students should comprehend the prospect that a foreign language could have and be made to study an extra language for the benefit of their future.Secondly, one will gain tremendous opportunities to broaden their horizon if they break the language barrier. For instance, speaking a foreign language could mean that one might make more native friends of that language and learn more about their culture. In other words, languages is a mean to enlarge our social circle. This leads to a gain of knowledge which is extremely significant especially when the demand to upgrade oneself is in need amid the constantly evolving world. Therefore, languages should be made to be mandatory at school.In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above, I strongly suppose that a foreign language should be a core subject at school.
