Although games have been developed as one of the important and useful app adjacent Internet and YouTube, There are some people especially teachers and students may still view language teaching with suspicion. In fact, the use of games proves to be a good idea because of its following major contributions
to the teaching and learning of foreign language.
First, games give meaningful practice in any of the four skills at any level of ability or in any stage of teaching process. Every student has their good or bad skill so that they will choose one suitable level from elementary to advanced to enhance their recently level. Moreover, these games are intended
for the practice of the four skills, namely reading speaking, listening and writing. These games are usually used by student whenever they have a free time to practice. Thus, games can also be used at any stage in language teaching and learning as warm-up activities or relaxing period of time after each lesson.
Second, games can increase the amount or student practice and participation. Unlike in class, in one games, there will be several students can take part in one match. When they play games in computer they can easily connect together at one time and jointly practice while having fun together. It also helps to increase the practicing time on learning four skills. As games are often played in pairs or teams they create favourable condition for pair work or group work to take place. In order to win the game equally and perfectly, every member in one group have to do something which initiate their turn-at-talk.
In conclusion, with all the benefit are showed, we are considered that language games make contributions significantly to student learning a foreign language. The value of games are not only impact to our language but also help to shape child’personality.
