School assignment
Hello readers!
As a school assignment I need to write a forum post with a minimum of 300 words; so here I am trying to think of something to write to you all. I would like to ask you to correct any mistakes I make or anything I should consider revising.
First off; let me introduce myself. I'm a first year student at Fontys Universities in The Netherlands. I want to become an English teacher so to improve my English I was assigned to do an email project, exchanging emails, and post on a forum.
I started this study with a few doubts whether I really wanted to become a teacher. First of all, I am the type of girl who gets nervous real quick. In secondary school I was terrified whenever I had to give a presentation in front of the class. Second of all, I didn’t choose this study because I wanted to be a teacher but rather because I like English so much. By the time we had the first exams I felt at home at my school and maybe even more important I had some great classmates. My exams went good, I passed them all, and I decided I was at least going to try to complete the first year. The second period I failed three exams. The first one was Sound which consisted out of a theory part and a writing phonetics part. The second exam I failed was meaning, which is about linguistics and then the third was Dutch spelling (yes, my own language).
The worst part of this year however; was when my internship started. I was extremely nervous about the whole thing and when I met my coach it only got worse. My coach didn’t support me at all and she was just unable to give me feedback on anything. Eventually I passed my internship but let’s just say it wasn’t because of my coach.
So now I am back to doubting whether I want to be a teacher because my internship went so bad. In the end I do like standing in front of the class; but it is a lot of work though. Hopefully I will pass my re-sits and pass my entire first year; I guess I will find out soon enough!
