School Application Letter

Hi! I am 14 years old and want to apply to a school. I need to write a note from my side to the school as well. Could you please check it out and give me suggestions? Thank you!
I have put ***** for the school I want to join and ^^^^^ for the one I am currently in.

Who am I? A topic I have been asked to talk or write about on multiple occasions. But when I think of who I really am, past the insignificant “I am a girl” and “I am 14 years old” only one word comes to mind, ineffable.
Does one ever really know who they are? A sportsperson may call themselves an athlete or a researcher might say they are a scientist but when you really think about it, that is just the person’s hobby and not who they are. Or maybe it is ones’ talent that defines them; their talent is who they are. Either way, I am still in the process of finding myself.

I read for recreation. If reading for pleasure were considered a talent, I would probably be in The Guinness Book of World Records. My favourites include The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
I read To Kill a Mockingbird a year ago and it changed my outlook of life as a whole. The book showed me the extent of discrimination present in the world; how a white woman put an innocent man in jail because she considered herself superior. It also taught me important life lessons such as to respect others regardless of their appearance, race or gender and that life is unfair and though it’s a hard fact to accept, it is the truth. The best we can do is to be just minded and treat everyone with equality.

After reading so much all my life, I have acquired a love for writing too. However most of what I have written is assignments given in school and occasional diary entries. I would relish an opportunity to be able to write in ******’s bimonthly newsletter especially since I find researching and reporting through the means of interviewing people a great source of enjoyment.
Gymnastics is another of my passions; making my body do things that would generally be challenging for a non-gymnast leaves me feeling intrigued and accomplished. Even so, I am miles away from becoming a professional gymnast but on the path to getting there.
Continuing with my interests, I also enjoy swimming. I have never really taken any professional lessons though whom more do I need when my very own mother is well invested in swimming and ever ready to give me tips when I need them.

At the risk of sounding conceited, I find it relatively simple to grasp concepts with only a little bit of guidance. It is ^^^^^^ that has helped me be able to self-study and shaped me to be independent.
My favourite subjects are math, chemistry and as I mentioned above, English.
Many a time I have heard people say that the only way to learn chemistry is through rote learning but in my experience, once I make the effort to try and understand the concept the rest comes easily enough. In fact, I enjoy balancing chemical equations and moreover conducting experiments in the Science Lab.

Through individual projects and long assignments; through parents asked not to help with homework and parents asked not to hire tutors; through meditation in the morning and chanting in the afternoons; and through teachers not being merely possessors of information but facilitators, ^^^^^^ has been a beautiful journey with its ups and downs, highs and lows but has made me self-reliant, independent and open-minded. I hope I can continue this journey in ****** too.
