Vocabulary

scholar

sorry that this is a query about pronunciation, but i cannot find the "post" button in the audio section of this forum so i have to post this thread here.

i am confused with the "o" sound as in the word "scholar" "God" etc which is pronounced by some native speakers like the "o" sound as in "come". Is this just an error with my ear?

hope someone can clarify this for me.

season's warmest greetings,

Vincent
