Hi Van, This is one of those cases where an industry has invented a noun for a special purpose (on-call) and they'll have to be the ones to decide how it should be used. Just a few observations: if it's going to be a hyphenated word I suggest you not use spaces (on calls/on calls). Sometimes the plural of a special word is rendered with an apostrophe (on-call's).

My director assigns a number of employees to be on call at night and a number of employees to be on call in the daytime . He asks me to post this infomation on the noticeboard . I don't know whether I'm right or wromg when I write as below: Is this for a job or for an Engl
